Youth Exchange: ​Echoes of Environment and Digitalisation - Vienna, Austria (2 to 7 November 2024)

This is an open call for applications for 5 participants (residents and citizens) from Austria between 15 and 25 years old for a fully funded Youth Exchange in Vienna, Austria from Saturday 02. November (kick-off day) to Thursday 07. November 2024 (departure day). For internal participants coming from outside of Austria, the latest arrival day is 01 November and the earliest departure day is 08 November.


A Youth Exchange is a meeting of groups of young people from different countries who gather for a short period to participate in a non-formal learning programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.). With the support of experienced youth workers, participants in a youth exchange can develop competences, become aware of socially relevant topics, discover new cultures, and strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, etc.


SUMMARY:

This call is for the Youth Exchange "​Echoes of Environment and Digitalisation" that will be implemented in Vienna, Austria from Saturday 02. November (kick-off day) to Thursday 07. November 2024 (departure day). For internal participants coming from outside of Austria, the latest arrival day is 01 November and the earliest departure day is 08 November. This youth exchange brings together 40 motivated young people from Latvia, Croatia, Czechia, Greece, Austria, Slovakia, Serbia, and Slovenia. The main focus is on the development of knowledge and skills around environmental issues through the use of immersive audioguides.

Learning outcomes:

  • Develop critical transversal skills (both personal and professional) to meaningfully and actively engage in climate action, empowering participants to take initiative and make impactful contributions.

  • Leverage audio guides as an innovative digital tool to create immersive and interactive learning experiences, enhancing our engagement, sense of initiative, and active participation in climate action.

  • Engage in holistic experiential learning that cultivates cognitive, practical, and social competencies in sustainability, empowering participants to connect theory with practice in their everyday lives.


PRACTICALITIES:

  1. If you are between 15 and 25 years old and live in Austria and would like to participate in this youth exchange, please send an email with a brief introduction about you and your motivation for participation in this youth exchange to emotic.org@gmail.com AS SOON AS POSSIBLE;

  2. Once accepted, you will sign the participation agreement, and fill in the application form;

  3. Then you prepare with the other participants from Austria,

  4. All meals during the training are covered. The training will take place at the Jugendgästehaus Brigittenau in 20th district.

  5. People from outside of Vienna will be refined for their transportation, and will be provided with accommodation.

The project is funded by the ERASMUS+ Programme of the European Commission.
