This is a call for applications for 6 participants (residents and citizens) from Austria between 18 and 30 years old for a fully-funded Youth Exchange in Miranda de Ebro (near Madrid), Spain from 8.08 (arrival day) to 15.08. 2022 (departure day).
A Youth Exchange is a meeting of groups of young people from different countries who gather for a short period to participate in a non-formal learning programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.). With the support of experienced youth workers, participants in a youth exchange can develop competences, become aware of socially relevant topics, discover new cultures, and strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, etc.
SUMMARY:
This call is particularly for the youth exchange "Out of Signal" that will be implemented in Miranda de Ebro (near Madrid), Spain from Monday 8.08 (arrival day) to Monday 15.08.2022 (departure day). This youth exchange brings together 42 youths from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, and Spain. The main aim is to reflect on the issue of social media excessive use and lack of privacy and risks of digital tools.
OBJECTIVES:
Showcase the reality of how social media works and real-life cases of how it has influenced mayor topics like the presidential elections in many countries;
Learn about the field of media and digital literacy, in favor of democratic and civic participation informed and active;
Foster learning and skills development through non-formal and informal dynamics and through the promotion of intercultural and diverse dialogue;
Reinforce common European values and eliminate conscious prejudice, stereotypes, discrimination and bullying.
PRACTICALITIES:
If you are between 18 and 30 years old and live in Austria and would like to participate in this youth exchange, please send an email with a brief introduction about you and your motivation for participation in this youth exchange to emotic.org@gmail.com AS SOON AS POSSIBLE;
Once accepted, you will transfer the administration fee of 30 Euros, then you should sign the participation agreement and fill in the application form;
Then you should buy your travel ticket in consultation with EMOTiC;
When it is time for the activity, you will travel together with the rest of the group from Austria;
The food and accommodation are fully covered. You will be staying in a shared room in a youth venue.
After your return, you will be refunded the cost of the travel ticket.
